I live in Siwtzerland where health insurance is obligatory, and when
you go to the
doctor the first thing they do is check whether you've paid your
health insurance,
and your medical bills.
The FIRST THING!
Then they turn to you.
By this time, you maybe look like a badly-preserved Egyptian mummy
or something the cat threw up, and they smile pleasantly and
say "Well now, what seems to be the problem?"

Oh well, they were only human once, too.
