There are plenty of 500 BC -and older- buildings in America, Cliff.

The Aztecs had underground sewage pipes hundreds of years before the
first European capital (London) did. In London and Paris fecal matters
roamed the streets along pedestrians, even in the Palace of Versailles
(there are NO restrooms there, people used the stairwells).
